Magnetic Fun with Mrs. Tilley's 1st Graders! This week, Mrs. Tilley's 1st Grade class went on an exciting magnetic search! Armed with magnets and curious minds, students explored their classroom, discovering which objects were magnetic and which were not. It was a fun, hands-on way to learn about the properties of magnets and explore the world of science. Great job, 1st graders!

NATIONAL STOP BULLYING DAY National Stop Bullying Day on the second Wednesday in October brings together students, faculty, and parents to end bullying. #StopBullyingDay This annual designation promotes standing up against and putting an end to bullying. No child should be afraid to ride a bus or go to school because a classmate threatens them. Children who have been bullied should also feel they can report the incident without repercussions.

Whether it’s just a simple compliment, a cheery hello, or a gift of something small to help brighten their day, World Smile Day encourages you to take action to bring a few more smiles into the world.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has announced this year's theme for Fire Prevention Week October 6-12: "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™" The goal of this year's campaign is to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. "It's simple, working smoke alarms save lives! Due to synthetic materials used in modern construction, homes burn hotter and faster, while also emitting toxic smoke limiting the time you have to escape to less than 2-3 minutes. The early warning from smoke alarms could save your life.”

This morning our 5th Grade SAVE Promise students performed a reenactment of "The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin" by Joe Troiano. The SAVE Promise performed this book to teach their peers the importance of Resilience. Resiliency is our leadership trait of the month for October. In addition to this, October is also National Bullying Prevention Month. Spookley is a square pumpkin who demonstrates resilience and how to overcome difficulties with bullying situations. We are so proud of our 5th Grade SAVE Promise group and their leadership! 💙🧡🐊
