In a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the PMMS boys' soccer team secured a hard-fought 1-0 win. The team's stellar performance on the field showcased their determination and skill, earning them a well-deserved victory. Ashton Hall came through with the only goal scored of the game but the defense was amazing led by Erik Martinez, Anthony DeLaCruz, Julio Perez, Raiden Lilies and Joncarlos Cruz. The girls also secured a 3-0 victory continuing their undefeated season at the halfway point. Goals were scored by Brooke Collins and Piper Halstead. Congratulations to both teams! It’s great to be a Raven!

Congratulations to the Ravens Girls’ Soccer team with a 6-0 win against Gentry Middle School. Defensively, the team was nearly impenetrable, thanks to the outstanding efforts of Myiah Frye and the backline led by Daniella Ayala, Sophia Newsom, Sophia Estrada and Callie Griffin. Their collective efforts thwarted every offensive attempt and preserved the clean sheet. Offensively, goals were scored by Brooke Collins, Piper Halstead and Schaelyn Chavez.
Way to go Ravens!

On Friday, September 29th, the sixth-grade staff presented the Student of the Week award to Trenton Howlett. Trenton is a student who always comes to class prepared and always comes with a positive attitude. He works hard, never gives up, and seems to know a lot of random facts. He has a fun personality and can often be seen helping his peers. We are proud of Trenton for being a leader on our hallway and are pleased to recognize him as our Student of the Week for September 25 - 29.

Pilot Mountain Middle School is thrilled to celebrate that Surry County Schools has named Mr. David Haynes as the October Leader of the Month. Mr. Haynes has worked at PMMS for 18 years. With kindness and humble professionalism, he serves the students at PMMS with a smile as an EC teacher assistant and tennis and golf coach. On any given day you will see Mr. Haynes filling in as a bus driver or monitor. Mr. Haynes has been a great asset to PMMS and SCS as he models the true definition of a leader each day.

In an electrifying match that showcased the epitome of teamwork and skill, the PMMS girls' soccer team secured a resounding 7-1 victory against Central Middle School Thursday afternoon. The field was the stage for a masterful display of soccer finesse as the girls put on a show that left fans in awe. Schaelyn Chavez, Piper Halstead and Brooke Collins each scored 2 goals while Callie Griffin scored 1. It was a pleasure playing against the great Coach Gentry who has coached many players that were at the game as players, coaches and fans. His dedication to youth in our community is beyond compare.
Thank you Coach Gentry for all you have done!
