Around 2:00 p.m. today, a 12-inch water main ruptured approximately half a mile from East Surry High School. Thanks to the quick response of the Town of Pilot Mountain and the Surry County Schools Maintenance Department, the situation has been addressed and the water main has been successfully repaired. School will operate on regular schedule tomorrow. However, there is a Boil Water Advisory for the Town of Pilot Mountain at this time. Please be assured that this will not impact child nutrition services tomorrow. We have made arrangements for bottled water, and students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to ensure they stay hydrated throughout the day. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this unexpected situation. The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and we want to assure you that every effort is being made to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
