HOSA 2024-2025

On November 16, 2024, students of Surry Early College High School of Design’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) chapter achieved outstanding results at the recent HOSA Regional Leadership Conference. This event, a key competition for future healthcare professionals, showcased the talents of Surry Early College’s students, with many securing top placements in competitive events.

The following students earned top 10 finishes in their respective events

     CERT Skills: Ja'Aura Fonville & Alexis Hutchens – 1st place

     CPR/First Aid: Jordin Beasley & Belinda Juarez – 1st place

     Dental Terminology: Levi Yount – 1st place

     Epidemiology: Arturo Duran – 1st place

     Forensic Science: Eva Brown & Acacia Phillips – 1st place

     Health Career Display: Emma Saul & Serenity Rose – Top 10

     Human Growth and Development: Emily Floyd – 2nd place, Peyton Easter – 3rd place

     Medical Law & Ethics: Madeline Needham – Top 5

     Medical Math: Autumn Hodge – Top 10

     Medical Spelling: Alyssa Wondolowski – 1st place

     Medical Terminology: Lukas White – 1st place, Ashlynn Medina – 2nd place

     Nutrition: Fernanda Bedolla-Chavez – 3rd place

     Occupational Therapy: Love Galyean – 3rd place

     Pathophysiology: Evey Eades – Top 5, Jaxon Lakey – Top 10, Kiya Patel – Top 10

     Patient Care Technician: Addison Southern – 1st place

     Phlebotomy: Ava Chrismon – Top 10, Ariana Rios-Perez – Top 10

     Prepared Speaking: Jessi Delacruz – 3rd place, Alyssa Mitchem – Top 10

     Researched Persuasive Writing & Speaking: Anaya Sweatman – Top 5

     Sports Medicine: Ben Sain – Top 5

In addition to these remarkable achievements, three of Surry Early College’s HOSA students were elected to regional officer positions:
