Surry Central High School is thrilled to introduce Mr. Stephen Bruner as our newly appointed Athletic Director. He takes over the reins from Mr. Wes Evans, assuming this pivotal role with enthusiasm. In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Bruner will also contribute his expertise as a Social Studies teacher and football coach. A proud alumnus of Surry Central High School, Coach Bruner pursued his higher education at Appalachian State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree.
Bringing a wealth of experience, Coach Bruner most recently dedicated four years of service to South Stokes High School. During his tenure, he not only taught Social Studies but also adeptly coached football, baseball, and softball. His overarching mission centers around nurturing student-athletes, fostering their triumphs both in the classroom and on the competitive field.
