Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®) For 40 years, March has been officially designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) for the observance of Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®), the time of year when music education becomes the focus of schools and communities across the nation. The purpose of MIOSM is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children—and to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music. MIOSM is an opportunity for music teachers to bring their music programs to the attention of the school and the community, and to display the value that school music brings to students of all ages.

February Student of the Month
Congratulations to Deanne Fitzgerald for being awarded Staff Leader of the Month for February! Mrs. Fitzgerald is an exceptional teacher and role model who deeply impacts her students. She is always there to listen and goes above and beyond to help them reach their goals. As both a mentor and a cheerleader for her Grow-Strong team and all the students at RES, she has earned their admiration and respect. Her dedication is evident in the way her students look up to her. I was particularly moved when one student shared that if Mrs. Fitzgerald ever left RES, they would want to follow her wherever she goes. That comment really opened my eyes to the profound influence she has, and it’s clear that she’s doing something truly special to earn such deep affection from her students.
