
Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with weekly news. Monday will be day 2 in our specials rotation. On Monday, your child will bring home their 2nd quarter progress report. The Art Club will meet after school on Monday. Please make sure your child has a note to stay. There will be no school on Wednesday through Friday this week. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. I am so thankful for each of our students, staff, and each of you as our school community.

Mrs. Marion’s class won the ice cream party for being the winners of the money wars for the SCSEF Gives Campaign.

Mrs. Martin held a curriculum night for parents to explain Dibels' data and talk about math. The students did an amazing job performing kamishibai stories that they illustrated on their own.





For World Kindness Day, Mrs. Freeman’s 4th graders spread kindness around Rockford. They gave cards and candy to the cafeteria staff, the front office, and the custodians. There were smiles for miles on everyone’s faces.










Thank you to Surry Communications in Dobson for donating snacks to our RES Backpack program.


Last Thursday, athletes from SCHS's varsity football and varsity volleyball teams joined us Thursday morning to assist with student arrival. They greeted students arriving in the carline and by bus. We saw several former Gators! I hope our students find this motivational and gets them pumped about their future as a Golden Eagle!

We wish them good luck in their competition this week. On Tuesday and Thursday, our GROW strong team will practice and our SAVE Promise club will meet after school on Friday. On Tuesday, November 14th, our 5th grade students will travel to the NC Zoo. We know this will be an exciting trip. Wednesday, November 15 will be Word Wizard Wednesday at Rockford. We encourage students to choose to dress as their favorite vocabulary word or phrase. Friday, November 17th, our GROW strong team will travel to Fisher River Park to complete a 5K. Student Council held a Veterans breakfast this morning to honor our Veterans. Thank you for your service!











The 5th-grade girls' group talked about self-confidence today. The girls created their own individual “I Am” poster.









Yesterday, second-grade students and staff enjoyed Frozen Jr. at AGP. Our very own Gator, Jenna Hawks, starred in the play as Little Elsa.








In an effort to raise vocabulary awareness, the literacy committee is sponsoring a Word Wizard Wednesday, on Wednesday, November 15th. Students are encouraged to dress up as a word, or a phrase. Some examples are listed in the attached flyer. There will be one overall winner in each classroom.
