RES third place winners

In a celebration of literary prowess and imaginative minds, the SCS Elementary Book Battle Competition concluded with resounding success, marking the triumph of young readers and their affinity for stories. Among the victors, the third-place winners emerged, showcasing their passion for literature and commitment to knowledge.

Held at Surry Community College on March 22nd, the competition brought together budding bookworms from across the district, igniting a fervor for reading and learning. Teams of enthusiastic students gathered, armed not with swords, but with books, ready to embark on an intellectual adventure like no other.

After a series of intense rounds filled with questions ranging from plot intricacies to character motivations, the competition reached its climax as the third-place winners were announced. With anticipation hanging thick in the air, the crowd erupted into applause as Rockford Elementary stepped forward to claim their well-deserved recognition.

Rockford Gators, comprised of Avery Compton, Itzel Cruz Vargas, Fatima Pacheco-Navarro,  Grethel Ponce De Leon Rosas, and Fernanda Rodriguez, exhibited exceptional teamwork, dedication, and a profound love for literature throughout the competition. Their ability to delve into the depths of various literary worlds and extract intricate details truly set them apart, earning them a place on the podium.

The third-place winners were awarded certificates of achievement symbolizing their remarkable journey through the pages of beloved tales. Despite the intense competition, the spirit of camaraderie prevailed, as students congratulated one another on their achievements and shared their favorite literary discoveries.
