finalists for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) 2025 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Beginning Teacher of the Year Award, including Dobson Elementary School's own Sydney McKeaver Coe! This prestigious recognition highlights her dedication and impact as an educator. One finalist will be honored as the 2025 NC Beginning Teacher of the Year after a comprehensive selection process by a panel of judges. As part of this achievement, finalists will attend a professional development week at the Truist Leadership Institute in Greensboro, N.C., from March 24–28, 2025. The winner will be announced during a special ceremony on March 27, 2025, at the Elliott University Center auditorium at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Hello Mountain Park! We have lots of fun activities planned for this week. On Monday, the Surry Central High School Chorus will be performing for our school. On Tuesday morning at 10:00, we will have our school spelling bee in the gym. On Wednesday, our PTO has a great day planned for us as Santa and the Polar Express will be here at Mountain Park. We appreciate all our PTO does for our school! On Wednesday, the Good News Club meets after school. Friday is the last day of the second quarter. On Friday, students will be receiving backpacks loaded with goodies provided by Mountain Park Baptist Church. We are so grateful for their support of our school. We dismiss at 1:00 on Friday for the break. We wish you all a happy, healthy and safe holiday. School resumes for students on Monday, January 6th. Thank you for making Mountain Park Elementary such a wonderful place to be!
