This is Mountain Park Elementary Principal, Matt Scott. I am calling to let you know that our school participated in a Practice Lockdown Drill this morning in cooperation with the Surry County Sheriff's Office. We are very proud of our students and staff because they responded quickly and did a great job with the practice procedures. Student safety is the highest priority for Surry County Schools and the Surry County Sheriff’s Office, and we are all working diligently every day to ensure the safety of children. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to work with us in that process. We encourage you to talk to your child tonight about our practice drill. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns. We hope you have a great day.
