Mountain Park Elementary Student Council members are leading within their school and community. Last month the Student Council, led by Mrs. Angie Swift, helped make a difference and positively impact the school Backpack Program and Mountain Park families. This group of leaders took a field trip to Walmart to shop for families that participate in the school Backpack Program. They helped select and gather items for the Backpack Program and to fill Easter baskets for families in the program.
Chloe Shore, Vice President for the Student Council shared, “This was an important event for the Student Council to be a part of because we were able to help families in need and to give back to our community.”
These eight students helped purchase, unload, and pack the food to be distributed for the Easter Holiday.
Student Council President Syler Bryant shared, “It made me feel joyful that we were helping the Mountain Park Community.”
Mrs. Swift explained that this was important for the Student Council to be a part of because this trip promoted empathy and allowed the students to learn the importance of giving back as leaders.
We are proud of our Student Council for their dedication to our community and for developing a love to serve others.
