finalists for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) 2025 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Beginning Teacher of the Year Award, including Dobson Elementary School's own Sydney McKeaver Coe! This prestigious recognition highlights her dedication and impact as an educator. One finalist will be honored as the 2025 NC Beginning Teacher of the Year after a comprehensive selection process by a panel of judges. As part of this achievement, finalists will attend a professional development week at the Truist Leadership Institute in Greensboro, N.C., from March 24–28, 2025. There will be 4 meetings occurring between December 2024 through November 2025. They will be held virtually and/or in-person, depending on what the Title I PAC chooses to do. Please share your interest by completing the interest survey form, which you can access via the QR code or link. Each elementary school should have a minimum of 2 PAC representatives. We will verify your child attends one of our elementary schools, and you cannot be an employee of Surry County Schools.
