Dobson Elementary has begun a new program this year. Students have applied and been
selected to serve as leaders for the entire school. We have Morale and News Ambassador
Teams who will be focusing on school climate transformation and leadership activity reporting,
but our Operations Ambassadors will have a little bit more of a hands-on focus. Their big job at
this point will be Morning Volunteer work, in and alongside the TAs who are on the morning duty
rotation. They will be permitted to assist in the car line, the cafeteria and as assistant hall
monitors. In addition to their morning duties, the Operations Ambassadors will also help
distribute supplies from the office when there is need throughout the week. One of our 5th
Grade Operations Ambassadors, Sawyer Badgett, practically earned his place in the program
before the program even existed, since he and one of our new Morale Ambassadors - Callie
Grant - have taken it upon themselves in recent months to help with computer start-up
procedures in the Media Center and Computer Lab each morning. It is the first year for all three
branches of the program, so the students enrolled this year get to set a precedent for the future
of the program as a whole!
