On Friday, March 21, 2025, six middle schools faced off in the North Regional Debate Competition hosted at Temple Baptist Church in Mount Airy, NC. Among the schools represented were: Gentry Middle School, Central Middle School, Pilot Mountain Middle School, Meadowview Magnet School, Mount Airy Middle School, and The Brawley School.
Gentry Middle School walked away with an overall team win of 52 points. Mount Airy Middle School fell into second place with 38 points. Gentry Middle School will advance to the State Finals on April 5th at Mac Williams Middle School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Any student who placed 1st in their individual events will advance to states as well.
