On Friday, March 1, 2024, five middle schools faced off in the North Regional Debate Competition hosted at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Mount Airy, NC. Among the schools represented were: Gentry Middle School, Central Middle School, Pilot Mountain Middle School, Meadowview Magnet School, and Mount Airy Middle School.
Gentry Middle School walked away with an overall team win of 57 points. Mount Airy Middle School fell closely behind with 56 points. Gentry Middle School will advance to the State Finals on March 23rd. Mount Airy Middle School and Pilot Mountain Middle School may also advance, depending on results from other sites.
