Pilot Mountain Middle School is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains; surrounded by small, rural community organizations, Pilot Mountain Middle continuously raises the bar and meets the challenges of improving student achievement. We offer many programs to help students accomplish academic, athletic, and social goals. We are committed to providing our students with the latest technology in our classrooms to enhance student engagement and to help our students be prepared for careers in the 21st century.

Molly Anderson

Mrs. Molly Anderson

Principal
Mrs. Anderson started her educational career with Surry County Schools teaching 3rd grade at Franklin Elementary.  After four years of teaching she became the assistant principal at Franklin Elementary.  Mrs. Anderson then became a principal in January 2010 at Flat Rock Elementary.  She also served as the principal at Rockford Elementary and Franklin Elementary before becoming the principal at Pilot Mountain Middle School in 2021.  

Mrs. Anderson was a NC Teaching Fellows Scholar at Appalachian State University.  She also obtained her Master’s in School Administration from Appalachian.  Mrs. Anderson was recognized as the Principal of the Year for Surry County in 2017/18.

Mrs. Anderson resides in Pilot Mountain with her husband, Michael and their two daughters, Emory and Ellie.  Mrs. Anderson grew up playing sports and now loves to watch her two active daughters compete in their sporting events.  

Kristina Swift

Assistant Principal
Mrs. Swift began her educational career in Lexington City Schools teaching 2nd grade, 4th grade, and ELA in 4th/5th grade to AIG students.  She then moved to Mount Airy with her family and taught 5th-grade math at Jones Intermediate. After a year at Mount Airy City Schools, she moved to Surry County Schools and taught at Cedar Ridge for 4 years. She taught 5th grade and served as the school’s Title 1 Reading Specialist. Mrs. Swift received the 2019 NCTIES Outstanding Teacher Award. 

Mrs. Swift holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNC Greensboro; a Master’s in Elementary Education and AIG licensure from High Point University; and, licensure in School Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 

Mrs. Swift resides in Mount Airy with her husband, Matt. They have three children; Maddie, Grady, and Henry. She is proud to be a part of the Raven family here at Pilot Mountain Middle School.
